‘Civilized world’ a myth

The so-called civilized world has failed, becoming a true civilized one since the birth of Homo Sapiens in Africa 200,000 years ago. The history of the pretending civilization has turned into a tale of dreadful human beings over time, leaving the habitant a terrified piece of land.  Murders, wars, tortures, invasions, and religions are the worst practices here that have made the earth a hell to live in. People are being slaughtered; animals are being butchered in each and every corner of this human earth in everyday. Once the human beings named this land is a world of human civilization as they found themselves different from the animals living in jangles, but it has been thrown away the tag of humanity. Demanding their superiority to the jangle’s animals, they claimed themselves a civilized sect having a better vocal power, ready wits, and conscience. In course of time, they have filled the land and air with groans of humanity. They have made the earth a land of terrors.

Now all things — money, wealth, land, and fame— are being considered a precious one, but the humanity.  At the moment, the term, ‘civilized world’, has been replaced with ‘bestial land’. History of human being has become a tale of bestiary. And subsequently in the past years, animals showed their quite nature than human beings.

According to statistics between 1955 and 2002, 5.4 million were killed in various wars in 13 countries.

Continued wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan had taken a huge human toll on the three nations. Till March 2015, about 210,000 people faced violent deaths in the three countries.

Nearly, 92,000 people were killed only in Afghan war since its beginning in 2001 after the Twin Tower was attacked allegedly by the Osama bin Laden on 11 September 2001. Another hundred of thousand civilians lost their legs and arms in the 13-year war between Taliban militants and US-led NATO armed forces. About 165,000 civilians died in Iraq war between 2003 and 2015 though that much less than the original figures. A number of people are being killed in the Syria and Yemen in the name of nationhood.

This is the only sect in the universe whose history has been written following bloody wars and violence. No being in the world ever killed own in such numbers. Not only the war-torn countries but the scenario of violence has grappled the earth.

The battle of 30-year war was ended in 1648 but the ghost of the notorious war has been prevailing in our nationhood over the centuries.

If we look into a developing country like Bangladesh, will see people are being shot dead, tortured to death in each and every day, but it seems a general phenomenon to us. Only in 2013, over 500 hundred people were killed in political violence in Bangladesh; we all remain calm for sake of personal gains. Many of the victims were burned alive. It’s not that only for political reasons but our feelings towards humanity have been damaged.

The incidents of killing, torture, crying of a kid, and even death don’t shake our hearts at all. Our conscience has been numbed. Violence against women has added a new dimension to the human nature. That, too, cannot hurt our notions.

No particular country or no nation or no one is responsible, but we all. If we don’t correct us and don’t stop the inhuman practices, this earth will be a land of beasts and brutality.

পল্লীবধূর যে অনুশীলন মুগ্ধকরে

বহুদূরে। আধুনিকতার পঙ্কিলতা ছাড়িয়ে অনেক দূরে। যান্ত্রিক সভ্যতা যেখানে প্রাগঐতিহাসিক। সবুজ শ্যামলিমা যেখানে মূল সত্য। সেই অনুক্ত সত্যের মাঝে। সেই অপার প্রাকৃতিক মহিমার মাঝে। মাটির দেয়াল অথবা খড়ের ছাউনিতে মৃন্ময়ী যে বঙ্গাল জীবন। সেই জীবনের অর্ধাঙ্গ আর অর্ধাঙ্গী সে স্বপ্ন বোনে। সে স্বপ্ন আজো বাংলাকেই প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে। মাস, তারিখ, ও দিন গণনায়ও যে সমাজে এখনো ইংরেজ প্রভুত্বের আধিপত্য স্বহাস্যে ভেঙচি দেয়। তাঁরা সে সমাজ থেকে অনেক অনেক দূরে। এক বাঙ্গালী বধু টাকার হিসেব কষেন বাংলায়। মাসের হিসেব হয় বাংলায়। আজ সকালে সদ্য মা হওয়া মুরগী ক’টা বাচ্চা ফুটিয়েছে। সেগুলোর হিসেব হয় বাংলায়। ভোরের আলোয় ঝরে পড়া লাউয়ের ফুল থেকে কয়টা কচি জন্মালো। আজ হাঁসগুলো কয়টা ডিম দিলো। সব হিসেব হয় শুধুই বাংলায়। হাসি-কান্না, আবেগ-অনুভূতি, ও চিন্তা-চেতনা সবই বাংলায়।

বাংলার রঙ, গন্ধ, ভাব খুঁজতে যে সমাজে রীতিমত গবেষণার প্রয়োজন হয়। সেখানে অবাদ বংলা চর্চার বিচারণভূমি পল্লী বাংলার কোল।

শিক্ষার কূলটা ধন আমাদের মুখ হতে বাংলা মাসের নাম উচ্চারণ অনেকটা অনভিপ্রেত। আধুনিক হওয়ার নামে বাঙ্গালী তথাকথিত শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠী সেখানে ইংরেজি চর্চায় মরণ পণ। ইংরেজি জানা যে সমাজে সামাজিক মর্যাদার কারণ হয়। সে সমাজে বাঙ্গালী বঁধুর এই বাংলা চর্চা শুধু মুগ্ধই করে না, প্রাণও ভরিয়ে দেয়।

আর আথিতীয়তা? বাঙ্গালীর ঐতিয্যে মিশে আছে যে সত্য। তার কোন কমতি নেই সেখানে। সে আথিতীয়তার জুড়ি মেলা ভার। হোকনা কাঠের চৌচাল আর খড়ের ছাউনী। তবুও এক গাল নিষ্পাপ হাসি নিয়ে কোন আশীতিপর বৃদ্ধ স্বাগত জানাবে। অন্তত কিছু একটা মুখে না দিয়ে চৌহদ্দি পার হওয়া বড়ই কঠিন।

সৌভাগ্য হলে। চৌকাঠ পেরোলেই দেখতে পাবে দাম্ভিকতাহীন গোছালো এক অপরূপ সংসার। ভালোবাসার পরতে পরতে সাজানো সমস্থ দেয়াল। ঘর ভর্তি এক মিষ্টি প্রেমের সৌরভ।

কিছুক্ষণ পর অন্যকোন আশীতিপর বৃদ্ধা যখন দৃঢ়পদে কাঁপাকাঁপা হাতে খাবার নিয়ে হাজির হয়। মনে হয় জগতের সমস্থ ভালোবাসার বাস এই চার দেয়ালের মাঝে।

সবুজ শ্যামলীমায় আর পারিবারিক বন্ধনের মধ্যদিয়ে ফুলে ফলে ভরে উঠা এক সম্প্রীতির বাজার এই সংসার। সে অকৃত্তিম সংসারেই চর্চা হয় বাংলার রাগ। সেটির মৃন্ময়ী সুর, তাল ও লয় মিলে জন্ম নেয় এক স্বর্গীয় সঙ্গীত। কাব্য। বাংলা ভালোবাসার গল্প।

Is Putin caught in US trap in Middle East?

If we look into the history of the contemporary militancy uprising, especially ISIS’s emergence, across the world, Russia’s Vladimir Putin still remains in a safer zone from the chaotic world comparing to European and US leaders.

No militant attacks have been executed on Russian territory yet or any possibility of the attacks has been reported till 14 October morning.

In terms of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Russia’s leaders may breathe in comfortable manner as the militant organization did not disturb the superpower since its berth.

This aforementioned statement remained an agreed truth till mid October when the Middle East based militant organization announced jihad on Russia. On 14 October, the spokesperson of the jihadist group, Abu Mohamed al-Adnani, declared an all-out jihad against the Russian regime saying, “Russia will be defeated.”

The announcement comes days after the Russian regime led by Putin conducted a number of airstrikes that killed hundreds of militants in the region. The Russian power executed the attacks in cooperation with Bashar Al Assad regime in the past few days amid fierce criticism from western powers.

Now question is that why did Russia launch the deadliest attack on the jihadist group? Do Russians have any specific interest in the region? If anyone has minimum wits regarding international politics, he/she will definitely say ‘yes.’ It’s true that Russia needs Assad regime alive to keep its strong hold in the oil-rich Mediterranean region. But, is this all behind Putin’s invasion in the area? It might have no simplified answer, so far because Russians’ involvement in the Syrian civil war is stirred by various factors. Even, backing the Assad regime has a number of causes, behind. Russia’s warfare came to limelight weeks after the westerners questioned Assad regime’s role against the ISIS militants.

The claims and disclaimers from westerners over ISIS issue came following a long term plan to engage Russia in the militancy fighting. And, at last, Russia stepped to the westerns’ pitfall.

On the other hand, it is now an agreed truth that US-backed intelligence bodies were behind forming anti-Assad rebel groups. Later a portion of the anti-Assad rebels joined ISIS with arms and ammunitions provided US and western powers.

Despite westerners’ repeated denies, the allegation was proved after a research piece was published by Conflict Armament Research (CAR). The research body collected sample of ammunitions from the war-fields in Iraq and Syria.

A big portion of the bullet stamps recovered from the left areas by the ISIS that were made up of US.

Additionally, on 12 October, an AFP report claimed that US-led coalition forces parachuted ammunition to rebels battling jihadists in the north of the Syria.

By turns, it has now become a US-Russia silent war in the region.

In this context, it will not be very upbeating to say that US intelligence allured Russia to involve in the war against ISIS, making part of this global militant crisis.

It is because Russia involvement in the Syria war will increase the country’s military expenditures, which is really perilous news for Putin amid ongoing economic embargos and lower prices of oil.

The Russian economy has already been hit by lower oil prices and western embargos.

If Russian economy dips into further level, it will, automatically, firm the grip of US in term of the world hegemony.

Apparently, it seems that Russia gets upper hand over the Syria issue in pace of US hegemony, but simultaneously, it may bring the Russians with long-term economic woes. Earlier, during US president, Russian rulers were once were trapped by such US tricks.  They paid a lot for its rulers’ the unwise  decision.

Meanwhile, we saw, against the backdrop of the Russian policy over fighting ISIS, the islamists jihad was urged against Russians. So, the Russians should be prepared to face the extremist group in future what European countries have been facing since Charlie Hebdo massacre in France.
